Hello from a rather cold NZ. So, very cold last night. It was -6 when we put our noses outside the door. I was a bit too cheeky yesterday and came down with a slight bump which in itself was no issue but it woke the body up from the slam I took the other day so I stayed off the mountain this morning. By the time I ventured out at 9am it was still -3 🙁

Went & had a coffee & caught up on my Instagram. By the time Roger came down we decided to go & get some warmth into the bones. Went over to the Remarkables Sports Complex and hit the warm pools which really helped things. Came back & had a good snooze ( along with some Emulgel on the shoulder ) and we are now prepared for a night of socializing with the neighbours!

So, it really wasn’t my fault.  Blame it on an earthquake! Somehow we hit the mountain without realizing the camera had no memory card in it. Yeah, yeah I know. Mr forgetfull. Anyhows, we have had a magic day. Beautiful day for skiing then socializing at the local tonight. Providing I don’t have another blonde moment, we’ll have photos tomorrow 😆

Hi everyone!

It has taken us a couple of days to get organised but finally we are up & running. We also now have a few photos to get started with.

We had a good flight over, a bit ahead of time actually. We finally, after all these years, got a very new hire car, bonus!

We hit the slopes yesterday and had a really good day but it isn’t nicknamed “Concrete Peak” for nothing. I got brought back to reality with a thud. Time for a helmet maybe? That put an end to my skiing for the day. Roger had a good day, he came off a couple of times but he hit soft stuff, mongrel!

We compensated byt taking heaps of Scottish medicine, aka Johnny Walker Black. The topped it off with a stroll up the road to the local pub & had a feed. Rolled back down the hill home ( after going the wrong way for a bit ) and crashed. Woke up so sore & bruised this morning it wasn’t funny. Still, we got the new video camera out & did some footage which worked really well. Will edit & upload maybe tomorrow. Bit of a learning curve.

Had a very icy drive up to the Peak this morning, a few people came to grief on the road, plus it was a very foggy start even up on the mountain. Cleared to come extent up top but down here in the valley the fog persisted almost all day & it will be a cold night tonight. Our thermometer isn’t here so we’ll have to get a new one.

All in all, it has been a good couple of days so we wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Hi everyone.  Just a quick early afternoon update. Bit battered & bruised. Yesterday took its toll and we were a bit wobbly this morning. About to dose up on deep heat & some scotch and have a snooze.  Will upload pikkies & a proper update tonight!

Made it safely across the Tasman and it has been a full on day. We’re both a bit the worse for wear tonight so it’s a case of warm shower, Deep Heat & bed. Only took a couple of photos today so tomorrow we’ll post a decent update!
